4. Wait Between Layers
- When your stencil requires more than one color, wait for each color to dry before applying the next color.
- To create a textured or deep tone stencil a light base color, allow it to dry and apply additional coats of the same color allowing drying time between each coat.
5. Clean Quickly After Use
- Use warm soapy water or an acrylic-safe stencil cleaner.
- Dry flat for best results.
- Acrylic paint dries very fast, so fix any mistakes immediately.
- Clean your stencil right after use to avoid clogging small details.
6. Prepare and Practice First
- Try a few different colors or combinations on a sample before you begin.
- Practice your stencil technique on a piece of wood or cardboard to get used to the brush, paint thickness and to test the results.
