Start teaching your puppy to play right away, is a smart move for all pet owners. Encourage them to play on your terms, reward them for playing with their toys. Give them plenty of exercise to use up as much of their puppy energy as possible. Get to know their personality and introduce toys that allow them to seek and find, cuddle or fetch the ball. Helping your pup to focus on their toys will often reduce the likelihood of them making your shoes, slippers or furniture their go to toys. Having the right dog toys is not a sure fix, but provides strong play alternatives.

Q. Are all dog toys right for all dogs?
A. No, your dog’s size, personality, strength and play style all contribute to the type of dog toy best for your dog. For chewers, plush toys are not the best. For cuddles, plush toys are awesome. For aggressive players, you might have to try a few different dog toys to find one that is a match.
